The Maine Boatbuilder's Show, Portland

Temperature, 68 degrees, sunny, great boats, friendly folks, even great food upstairs with a great view of the harbor.  ZOGO (above)was  a custom designed and built boat with fantastic woodworking and detail.  Boats of all kinds from pure wooden boats built with native materials like Pulsifers to carbon fiber/kevlar canoes.  By and large the builders themselves were there to answer questions about their designs and happy to chat with folks.  Met a lovely lady who had been a Vermonter and now owns a boat yard on Cranberry Island.

Maine Boatbuilder's Show

All kinds of boats, a nautical flea market, next door is one of Hamilton Marine's outlets with everything on sale, looking through these pics you will see my beautiful wife holding a wheel I bought at the flea market for $2.  Never saw one like it before, some kind of composition with a 3/4 taper.  If you examine the pics you will see Dick Pulsifer and his Corgi, D2Maine (I wont tell you which pic, he is shy)
